Generate invisible text
The byte counter updates as you type: message and username fields often limit bytes rather than characters, and this is the number they check against.
The four characters worth knowing
The generator accepts all 36 codepoints from the character library, but four of them cover nearly every real job:
The Hangul Filler passes username checks because Unicode classes it as a letter. The Braille Pattern Blank is the reliable body for empty-looking chat messages. The Zero-Width Space hides between letters without taking any room. The Zero-Width No-Break Space glues words together invisibly — useful in documents, fragile in forms.
Reveal invisible text
The reverse job matters just as much: finding out whether a text hides characters you cannot see. Paste anything below — every hidden codepoint is exposed as a tag with its Unicode number.
0 characters
Handy when copied data «doesn't work», when a username is mysteriously taken, or when you suspect a text carries an invisible watermark.
What invisible text is used for
Messages that arrive empty. Chat apps refuse a message with no content, but they accept content that displays as nothing. Generate a few characters, paste, send — the bubble arrives blank. On Discord the same trick covers nicknames and channel names; the Discord page has the specifics.
Blank names and bios. A name field that rejects spaces will still accept a letter-class invisible character. That is the mechanism behind nameless TikTok profiles — walked through step by step in the TikTok guide — and blank Instagram highlight titles.
Spacing that platforms respect. Instagram and TikTok captions drop empty lines on publish. An invisible character parked on each blank line keeps the layout — the line-break tool automates it for a whole caption at once.
Hiding text inside text. Zero-width characters slip between letters without changing what you see. That is how invisible watermarks mark leaked copies of a document — and why the inspector above exists: what one tool can hide, another should be able to reveal.
Invisible text is not «invisible ink»
iPhone users often search for invisible text meaning the iMessage effect that blurs a message until the recipient swipes over it. That is a display animation, not a property of the text — it only works between Apple devices, and the message itself is perfectly normal underneath. Unicode invisible text, by contrast, is genuinely blank on every platform, but nothing about it is interactive. Which one you want depends on the job: the invisible ink guide covers both, including what Android recipients see.
Frequently asked questions
How long can invisible text be?
The generator produces up to 1000 characters per click, and you can paste repeatedly. In practice the ceiling is the destination field's limit — often counted in bytes, which is why the counter shows both numbers.
Why does my invisible text disappear when I paste it?
Usually the field trims whitespace on save, and space-class characters are exactly what it trims. Switch to the Hangul Filler or the Braille Pattern Blank — Unicode does not class them as whitespace, so trimming ignores them. The character page explains all three failure mechanisms.
Can invisible text be detected?
Yes — by tools built for it, like the inspector on this page. Nothing about these characters is secret to software; they are only invisible to eyes. Treat them as formatting, not as encryption.
Does invisible text work everywhere?
The characters copy identically on every modern system. Whether a given app keeps them is that app's decision, and rules change with updates — when a character fails, its neighbour from the same group usually still works, and the inspector tells you what actually landed in the field.
